The Wonderland dodos are no different than the rabbits, cats, mice, lizards, and other talking animals in Wonderland. They started off as 100% mundane animals but something about Wonderland gave them the ability to talk. Who brought a population of dodo birds to England in the first place? Well now that is the true mystery.

Huh. I guess I never thought of all the sapient animals in Wonderland being brought there and just assumed they were there to start with. Welp, that’s a neat bit-o-lore right there.

I’m happy to know any extinct species survived, especially something as cool as a dodo. Makes me wonder if those giant lemurs from Madagascar ever got confused for magical creatures by Avalon explorers

Eh, there were probably a few live specimens transported to British universities by the EIC at biologist’s request. I could see a few avian-based mythics saving them, and the biologists covering it up by claiming the specimens were eventually consumed.

Hey Kory, if this doesn’t spoil any major plot lines, what is Royce? On the character page it says he’s an Uncommon Griffin, on the wiki it says Pygmy, but neither says what bird/cat hybrid he is. Could you clarify?
